MED-EL cochlear implants are designed to provide a closer to natural match with any hearing aid. There are three main components that should match between the CI system and the hearing aid: pitch perception, loudness growth, and timing of a sound.
By combining these three elements, RONDO 3 offers the best solution for bimodal listening with practically any hearing aid.
Pitch Matching
Our long arrays and unique FineHearing technology provide the closest to natural pitch match of any CI, so we can provide a much closer match to the acoustic frequencies of the hearing aid. Other companies may use a bimodal fitting formula with frequency-shifting partial integration, which can compromise the performance of the hearing aid ear.
Our complete integration approach can offer a more natural frequency range and sound perception to both ears. This also lets you independently fit the hearing aid to best benefit, rather than using a bimodal fitting formula to correct for the CI.

Matched Loudness Growth
The natural loudness growth and 3:1 compression ratio of our proven dual-loop Automatic Gain Control makes it easy to balance with nearly any hearing aid—without having to drastically refit the hearing aid compression ratio. [ft]
This balanced front-end processing also means both the hearing aid and the audio processor can use any microphone directionality or beamformer settings without needing a wireless sync between devices. You can simply independently fit each device to best hearing benefit.

Every hearing aid has an inherent processing delay, which is often longer than the processing time of the CI audio processor. This can cause a mismatch between the CI audio processing and the acoustic hearing aid. In turn, this timing mismatch would affect accuracy of inter-aural timing differences (ITDs).
With Bimodal Synchronization, you can easily match the processing delay timing between RONDO 3 and nearly any hearing aid, without needing to refit the hearing aid. This more natural timing match can help support better sound localization for bimodal listeners. [ft] [ft]

RONDO 3 uses Qi technology to wirelessly recharge its integrated lithium-ion battery. This means no more fumbling to open the processor to change batteries. Just place it on the charging pad and RONDO 3 starts charging.
And with the charging cable, you can directly charge RONDO 3 through a USB power bank, so there’s no need to worry about running out of power.
All Day Battery
Set it on the charger at night and wake up to a full day of battery. Four hours of charging provides a full day of battery. You can check battery status on the processor or with the AudioKey 2 app.
